
The way you measure achievement with Reading Counts is through the number of points earned. The over 30,000 book titles with RC quizzes each have a point value based on the length of the book and the difficulty of the text. A Nate The Great or Marvin Red Post title will only be worth 2-3 points, while a book like The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe will earn a student 9 points. On average our 6th grade students earned 93 points on their quizzes during the first semester. This is a high level participation and remarkable amount of reading.
